Smoky broiled mullet
Ingredients:
2 lbs. mullet fillets
1/3 c. soy sauce
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. liquid smoke
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
3 Tbsp. butter, melted
Lemon wedges to garnish
How to:
Skin fillets and cut into serving size portions. Combine soy sauce, ginger, salt, liquid smoke, garlic and butter and mix throughly.
Place fish on a well-greased broiler pan and brush with the sauce.
Broil about three-inches from the heat source for four to six minutes. Turn carefully and brush the other side with the sauce. Broil four to six minutes longer and baste occasionally until the fish flakes easily when tested with a fork.
Serve with lemon wedges.
