Linguini with clam sauce

Ingredients:

1 (12 oz) pkg. linguini

2 (6-1/2 oz) cans chopped clams

1 Tbsp. butter

1/4 c. olive oil

1 (8 oz) pkg. sliced fresh mushrooms

3 garlic cloves, minced

1/3 c. dry white wine

2 Tbsp. chopped fresh basil

2 Tbsp. chopped fresh parsley

2 tsp. crushed Italian seasoning

1/4 tsp. ground black pepper

1/8 tsp. crushed dried red pepper

How to:

Cook the pasta in a Dutch oven according to package directions.

Drain and return to the Dutch oven and set aside.

Drain the clams, reserving the juice.

Melt the butter with oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the mushrooms and garlic. Saute five minutes or until the mushrooms are tender. Add the clams, white wine, basil and next four ingredients. Cook, stirring often for five minutes.

Stir the reserved clam juice into the pasta in the Dutch oven and cook over a medium heat for five minutes.

Remove from heat and add the mushroom mixture, tossing to coat.

Serves 6
