Capt. Dick’s Recipes: Char-grilled oysters

Ingredients

– 1 c. butter

– 1/2 tsp. garlic powder

– 12 to 16 oysters on the half shell

– 1 c. grated parmesan cheese

How to

In a small saucepan, melt the butter over a medium heat.

Bring to a simmer and skim the foam off the top and discard.

Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the garlic powder.

Place the oysters on a foil-lined broiler pan and lightly sprinkle with grated parmesan cheese.

Broil the oysters two to three minutes or until the cheese starts to brown.

Generously pour the garlic butter over each of the oysters.

Cook one to two minutes. Avoid over-cooking.

Serve immediately.
