A big thank you from American Legion Post 136
To the editor:
American Legion Post 136’s chili/cornbread cook-off turned out to be a successful fundraising event, once again. Nineteen chili entries, an all time high, were entered into the event and eight cornbread entries were entered.
From mild to hot chili and cornbread, everyone got to sample both and voted for the best of the best depending on taste buds of the testers.
Winners for the chili were first prize to #7 Craig Bilski; second prize tied #1 Memory of Buck by Terry Roberts and #3 Mike Scott; and third prize went to #11 Betty Ann Bisher.
The winners of the cornbread were first prize to #1 Jeannie Glenn; second prize #3 Robert Scudder; and third prize to $5 Renae Berner.
American Legion Post 136 would like to thank all of our participants who donated their great creations making this year’s cook-off a success.
A thank you to Ed Mitchell, Past Commander and Veteran Service Officer of the post, for heading the event and all of the volunteers serving. The amount raised was $381 to benefit the scholarship fund for 2026.
