Biden’s attempts at unity constantly thwarted
To the editor:
President Biden has made enormous attempts to gain unity in America, but has been thwarted constantly by all the lies from FOX, Putin, Trump and the Republicans. The historic NATO vote of 141 out of 158 nations to condemn Russia is a huge Biden win, and only one sign of how effective Biden has been in reunifying NATO after four years of assault and undermining under the previous administration. But many of our own congressional GOP either supported or would not condemn Putin in the beginning. The weakening of NATO – Putin’s goal – was assisted by Trump, who spouted lies like Putin’s puppet. Trump’s impeachment was over his attempt to blackmail the Ukraine into spreading lies about Hunter Biden by withholding $400 million in aid. This will read in history books like a soap opera; his supporters aligning themselves with his corruption, while seeing the lack of conviction as some sort of vindication. Trump supporters still believe Trump won even after FOX is taken to court on its election lies, and 62 lawsuits rejected those claims, even in courts with Trump-appointed judges. Putin’s election tampering is now a fact. Trump gleefully supported Putin over U.S. intelligence when they showed Putin authorized extensive efforts to hurt Biden’s candidacy in our election. In 2017 Trump shared highly classified material with Russian officials, and wouldn’t even confront Putin over the bounties Putin offered the Taliban to kill American soldiers! Complicit Republicans continue to evade punishment to the point that we desperately need protection from our own representative’s propaganda. Moral clauses, or other laws must be put in place to stop the lies, traitorous acts and payoffs. I wonder if Putin has compromising pictures of Trump?
