Poll numbers show Biden Administration ‘out of touch’ with voters
To the editor:
The only good news for President Biden in the latest poll numbers showing him at a new low approval rating of 38 percent is that his Vice President Kamala Harris reached even a lower number of 28 percent approval, the worst approval rating of any V.P. in modern times. (Yahoo.com)
Biden has far too many blunders and missteps in his scant 11 months to review here, so let’s just examine the logic on two of them.
In 2019, the U.S. achieved “energy independence,” consuming less oil than we produced, for the first time since 1957 (instituteforenergyresearch.org). On Biden’s first day in office, he cancelled the Keystone Pipeline, a 1200-mile-long system that would have brought in 830,000 barrels a day from Canada. This added supply would have kept prices lower in the U.S. but instead prices climbed over 50 percent from a year earlier. So, Biden removes our energy independence with the stroke of a pen, gas prices expectedly rise and when he finally realizes what he has done, he decides to release 50 million barrels of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve of the U.S.
The SPR was created to ease the effects of a “supply shock” and keep the wheels of our country rolling. Biden created the “price shock” with his ignorant, short-sighted decision to appease those wealthy leftist supporters that put him in office but then thought by releasing emergency oil, thereby potentially reducing prices, he’d be able to get past this blunder that he alone created.
Does this move make any sense to anyone that is not trying to dismantle our country? He doesn’t care if gas prices reach $50 a gallon except for the fact it would cost him votes.
According to gobankingrates.com, a survey completed in 2019 showed that 69 percent of Americans had less than $1,000 in a savings account. So how do you think Biden’s plan of giving $450,000 to illegal immigrants that entered our country sounds to them? Where did that number come from? After calling the plan garbage in a televised press conference, he angrily defended the plan in another televised press conference a week later.
Average Social Security benefits for retired American workers that contributed money to the plan their entire lives are about $1,500 a month, or about $18,000 a year. It would take them 25 years to receive that much, and Biden just wants to write a check to those that broke our laws.
Out of touch with Americans?
What do you think?
