‘Let’s Light Up Matlacha’

To the editor:

It’s time for “Let’s Light Up Matlacha.” Have you noticed that the original dolphins are up and lighting the bridge at night? Many thanks to LCEC and Mike Gordon’s committee.

In addition to the dolphins, the Annual Christmas Trees will be Lighting up Matlacha Friday night, Dec. 10, at 6 p.m., for the third year. The lighting will take place at the intersection of Pine Island Road and Island Avenue. Cookies will be passed around and Santa Mike will be ready to visit the little ones. DJ Kathleen will have holiday music and the Lee Country Sheriff’s Office always provides safe patrolling on Pine Island Road.

Thank you to George Williamson for donating the use of his lot and chief engineer Jake Sadlak for his time and expertise to build both trees and this year, adding a star for the top of the large tree. Barnhill Seafood Market will provide the needed electricity, also thank you.
