Hookers thank volunteers for help with Adopt A Road effort

To the editor:

Wow! Thanks to all who showed up with smiles and energy to complete our Hooker Adopt A Road clean up on Saturday, June 5. We had 10 folks show up ready to participate — mother and daughter (Sandra Lolly and Rubie Costa), husband and wife (Joel and Chris Buntin), travel buddies (Shirley Noble and Barb Copeland), Hooker merchandise and Snowbird buddies (Linda Bohacek and Diana Willits) and Board member (Lucinda Good).

Power and expediency in numbers. We started about 8:30 and I dropped the last bag of trash off at 10 a.m. The results were amazing. Pine Island Road between Micelli’s and Yucatan is cleaned up and inviting to our residents and visitors.

Thanks again and stay tuned for the next scheduled Adopt A Road clean up. We’d love to have you join us!
