Thank you Publix
To the editor:
Thank you Publix and Gov. Ron DeSantis for teaming up on COVID-19 vaccinations. I think it’s the best system so far that has come out. My wife, Marian, went online when Collier County got set up. She got on and booked her appointment. I passed on mine because the appointment was during the Green Bay Packer and LA Rams game (priorities). When Lee County got set up, we both went to the site, and she got in, and got appointments for me and our 83-year-old neighbor. We let our office know and that Friday she got seven Pine Island people signed up. We didn’t have success this past Friday and Wednesday. We have a list of five Pine Island residents we are trying to get set up now.
The best part, after you get signed up, is when you go for your appointment. A really nice lady checked me in, and walked me through the process. I stepped to the window to confirm my ID, and got the packet of information. My second shot was already set up. I stepped to the designated door where my ID was confirmed again, and got my shot. I had to stay a few minutes to be sure of no reactions. Everyone at Publix was so friendly and helpful with this process, as they always are when we shop there.
Thank you again to the great people at Publix for what you all are doing.
