Volunteers recognized at VFW Post # 4353
To the editor:
On Oct. 16, the Greater Pine Island VFW Post 4353 held a special event to honor employees, vendors and especially volunteers that have helped the Post get through these most trying times. We all know that the last 6 months have been like none other and without good people like the above it would have been impossible to remain viable.
I would like to personally thank Better Than a Bistro, Bob Venora and Mike Duffy, who not only provided the hamburgers but graciously cooked them to order for everyone. Our relationship with Bob and Mike, “The Bistro Boys,” will continue to be special and cherished. Of special note was Jack Foot, who graciously provided music at the last minute due to a cancellation. Because of volunteers like Jack, Post 4353 is recovering and growing stronger.
My thanks and the thanks of the Post go out not only to The Bistro Boys and Jack, but also to all of our employees, vendors and the lifeblood of the Post, the volunteers! This is in keeping with the VFW motto — “No one does more for Veterans.”
Thank you!
Tom Ferguson
