St. John’s Episcopal Women donate funds locally
To the editor:
St. John’s Episcopal Church Women (ECW) recently donated $1,000 to the Beacon of H.O.P.E. Beacon Bites program. Beacon Bites was developed to combat issues facing Pine Island Seniors. It is a home-delivered meal program that was created to deliver meals to people unable to purchase or prepare their own meals.
ECW also recently donated $1,000 to Pine Island’s F.I.S.H. (Fellow Islanders Sending Help). Pine Island FISH provides non-emergency transportation, lends mobility equipment to those in need, offers emergency financial assistance, gives respite relief for caregivers and stays in touch with home bound neighbors.
ECW also donated over $600 worth of food to the Pine Island United Methodist Church’s program to feed the children, during school closings because of the pandemic.
The Episcopal Church Women want to acknowledge that these donations would not have been possible without the wonderful support from the many people who have participated in our fundraising events throughout the year and sincerely thank our community for your support so we may help others in need.
Thanks,
Nancy Gredlicks
