Christmas Poem 2019

1 min read

To the editor:

Take a walk down Candy Cane Lane

Through spiral twists and turns,

End with a crooked staff

In sugared steam of cocoa stirred.

Snow globe magic surrounds the home

Glossed in Christmas glimmer,

Caroler’s bells echo

As hot chocolate starts to simmer.

Manger scenes under Christmas trees

Dressed in festive fashion,

Rainbow eyes of children

Wait in haste for reindeer action.

Sweet peppermint bark confections

Breath that whispers a chill,

Cinnamon sticks of spice

And gingerbread cookies that thrill.

Ornaments of silver and gold

Wreaths full of rightful praise,

Laughter under mistletoe

With frosty noel nights ablaze.

Let every child that dwells on earth

Stand up, stand up and sing,

Out of all doubt he comes

Behold the Christ child now is king!
