Christmas boat parades should be on different nights

Dear organizers of the Matlacha and Pine Island Christmas Boat Parades …
We are full-time residents of Pine Island and previously seasonal visitors. Our list of things to do, see and enjoy on our island paradise is too long for this letter.
When we received our Nov. 27 edition of the Pine Island Eagle, on our favorite things list, we read with glee about another of our favorite things, the Christmas boat parades. Yippee. We grabbed our calendars and quickly started plugging in the dates and times for the Matlacha and Pine Island boat parades, but, oh to our disappointment, we realized both parades are scheduled for the same date and time.
How about Pine Island and Matlacha Christmas Boat Parade organizers plan TWO nights of celebration. That way visitors and residents can see both parades and build cooperation between the two communities.
