Thank you for pet friendly park

To the editor:

My wife and I moved to Matlacha four years ago. Love the area but our new house has no lawn. We usually have 2-3 “rescue” Aussies and when we went to walk them in park, we were told that dogs weren’t allowed. For the last three seasons we have been walking the streets of Matlacha and dodging traffic.

When we returned this fall, we discovered the park had become “pet friendly.” We love it, the dogs love it and I’m sure the people driving Island Avenue are happy, too.

(Now that we are spending more time in the park, we have begun to appreciate how well maintained and how nice the park is.)
