An attack on women

To the editor:

There is an attack on the women of this country, all colors and all ages, that is called the gag-rule. It’s not just about abortion, it’s about right to work, economic security for our future and income inequality. It’s about trust — breaking trust with your doctor as dollars are removed from hospitals and physician groups because the doc answered your question honestly.

Here’s what withdrawing Title X funding really does:

1. Ban healthcare providers who receive federal funding under the nation’s family-planning program from referring patients for abortion care;

2. Impose new restrictions aimed at defunding abortion providers, like Planned Parenthood; and

3, Loosen Title X medical standards, opening the door for anti-choice, fake women’s health centers to begin receiving federal taxpayer dollars to push anti-abortion lies and propaganda.
