First Baptist thanks Winn-Dixie for food donations

To the editor:

First Baptist Church of Pine Island would like to thank Winn-Dixie for the food they donated this year for our TEAMkid and J.A.M. Youth programs. Each Wednesday night through out the school year we offer the kids of Pine Island a fun evening of learning about God and games. At the beginning of each evening we provide a light supper for the kids at 6:30 p.m. This is where the donations of hot dogs, buns, pork, chicken nuggets, etc., from Winn-Dixie really came in handy. Between their donations and others, we were able to feed 40-plus kids a week.

We know that Winn-Dixie is generous with many organizations on the Island, and we, for one, are grateful for their thoughtfulness.
