Preserve our island
To the editor:
Reading the opinions (“Word on the Island”) in the Wednesday, Aug 10, edition of The Eagle, the one that stands out is Sonny Koutsoutis’ comment. Most were asking for another gas station. The problem begins when a person is done fueling, please move your vehicle to the parking spaces and then go inside the store. In season, there are lines both ways waiting to fuel. It’s as bad as not letting a person out of Island Avenue. How much time are you going to lose to let traffic flow?
Back to the point, we need someone to watch our back and not let big builders add more homes out here. They move here for the peace and quiet. Additional people will stop what they live out here for.
