Could it be?
To the editor:
Maybe a Publix on the Island will ease the traffic through Matlacha during season. Huh? I and many other Islanders are concerned about the potential of a Publix going in, on Pine Island Road. I just had a thought. About 50 percent of the time, when I go off the Island, I am making a special trip to Publix for something I couldn’t get at Dixie. Most snowbirds I know will only shop at Publix. They go off island more frequently than I do. Is it possible a Publix-type grocery store could be a good thing? We sure could use another gas station, too. I think we have banks covered, though!
