What kind of public poll is this?
To the editor:
City sets up online voting feature to solicit public opinion on Northwest Cape / 7 Islands Concepts – cape-coral-daily-breeze.
What kind of public poll is this?
According to the Northwest Cape Neighborhood Association, 70 percent of local residents surveyed prefer the Seven Islands remain as is, undeveloped, natural or park … NOT developed.
The City of Cape Coral used UEP (Utility Expansion / Sewer Project) funds to purchase the Seven Islands just before Matlacha Pass, while North Cape awaits potable water, irrigation water and sewer service.
Are City Council members aware that this land, plans for which call for high-rises and up to 240 new boat slips, is on a 7-mile-long untreated stormwater runoff canal (North Spreader Canal) containing septic tank leachate from about 17,000 old septic tanks?
Who will buy property on a storm sewer canal?
The city does not offer the choice that most residents prefer … no development.
Attend the City Council meeting, April 6, 4:30 p.m., Cape Coral City Council Chambers. During public comment, speak up and be heard. Be prepared, you only get three minutes.
