Thanks to Pine Island Pizza and the residents of the island

To the editor:

We would like to thank Pine Island Pizza for generously donating their “tip” jar to our youth camp fund. We wanted to send, free of charge, 23 students between 4th grade and senior year of high school to a one-week summer camp in Hudson, Fla. These kids are from the island and have been fundraising to help raise the funds, and Pine Island Pizza’s donation was the exact amount we needed to complete the funds. When we got the message that $1,070 was collected, we were ecstatic, because we needed $1,003 still. I can’t thank Melissa, Pete and the people of Pine Island that generously gave to help these students experience this amazing opportunity.
