Kiwanis says thanks to all who support the Taste of Pine Island
To the editor:
Dear Taste of Pine Island friends, sponsors, vendors and supporters …
It is with sincere regret that I must inform you that once again the Taste of Pine Island has been canceled due to the wet conditions of the venue. It is just not possible to have our event without severely damaging the integrity of the field and Little League season is upon us. So, unfortunately, timing does not permit the opportunity to reschedule the event.
We deeply apologize for any inconvenience that this regrettable happenstance may have caused you. We totally understand. Our club relies heavily upon this event to support our scholarship program and now we have no funding for this. In the past we have awarded between $15,000 and $20,000 in scholarships annually to deserving Pine Island students. It is heartbreaking to know that this year we will be turning students away who desperately need help with their higher education. We ask you to consider a donation towards our scholarship fund. Even small donations will help us help Pine Island students with their educational goals.
Any donations may be mailed to: Pine Island Kiwanis, PO Box 111, St. James City, FL 33956
And again, we are tremendously grateful for your understanding and support.
Joy Veatch,
President, Pine Island Kiwanis
