Helping Paws Animal Shelter needs your help
To the editor:
Volunteers are desperately needed at Helping Paws Animal Sanctuary, 10060 Mallory Parkway, E., Unit D, St. James City.
Marnie Miszewski founded Paws in 2010. The sanctuary provides food, shelter and medical attention for cats and kittens. Each has a different name, story, appearance and personality.
Because the shelter is maintained solely by volunteers, 100 percent of the donations go to the care and housing of the animals, and not to administrative costs.
The sanctuary has a home-like environment where the furry residents can move about freely and interact with people and other cats. Some animals prefer to stay mainly in one of the many rooms outfitted with shelves of differing heights, chairs, cat trees and soft cushions. Often a cat can be seen watching a nature “cat video” on one of the TVs.
Marnie and a handful of volunteers are currently providing the care for almost 200 cats.
There is a great need for more volunteers to help with daily chores. Additionally, the kittens savor attention.
Donations of wet cat food and clumping litter are needed. Any other contribution to the cats’ welfare would be appreciated. Lets support Marnie and Paws,
