Pine Island Plan rewrite update

The next step for the Pine Island Plan rewrite is to present it to the County Commissioners. There will be at least four hearings, and I expect them to start soon. There will be a transmittal (to Tally) hearing for the Plan changes, and after the package returns from Tally, an adoption hearing. The Land Development Code changes that implement the Plan will get two public hearings (as must all new laws).
Before any of that starts, I’m hoping the county staff makes some of the changes we recommended regarding open space (the same changes that were also recommended by the Local Planning Agency in a 7-0 vote). I checked the county website earlier today (1/3/16) and the rewrite has not been changed since 9/15/15, so thus far our proposals have been acted upon.
