Viable presidential candidates

2 min read

To the editor:

As Presidential hopefuls begin their journey it’s important that, finally, the American people receive straight talk as far as exactly what each candidate will do if elected.

It’s long past the time when pomposity, arrogance, and half truths are presented and it’s exactly the time for promises to be made and, if elected, the promise maker is bound by his or her commitment.

We want to know: 1) How long before it ISIS is eliminated? 2) How will the debt, now $17 trillion, be reduced and by what date can we expect this reduction? 3) The murder of 50 million unborns since Roe V. Wade was enacted and is continuing at the rate of almost 2 million each year. What will be your position and how will you attempt to persuade the Supreme Court to stop the slaughter? 4) The boarders. By what date will the boarders be closed to illegals? Candidates need to stop babbling. They need to treat the American people with the respect we deserve. 5) The VA debacle. By what date will every veteran be treated promptly?

These questions and more need to be addressed with definitive and absolute surety. And, if when elected, the President fails on any promise, the final promise must be his or her immediate resignation.

The days of standing before a microphone and saying nothing definitive are over. We want promises. We insist on results. And, we’ll settle for nothing less.

If you’re programed to continue with traditional meaningless word games, forget it. If you’re a politician, we don’t trust you. You’d better earn our confidence with absolute honesty and integrity, along with a penalty for failure to perform. Only this change in political posturing will serve to return trust and pride in government.
