Have you heard of the Moose?
The Pine Island Moose was initiated in the mid-’80s on Pine Island in the building that became Mulletville. They then bought the building that was the old Shell Factory on Stringfellow Road. After Hurricane Charley destroyed the Lodge, we rebuilt.
Our Lodge is more than a social headquarters offering reasonable prices at the bar and in the kitchen. The Moose Lodge on Pine Island has been active in providing much needed donations to various organizations including the Beacon of H.O.P.E., F.I.S.H., Food Pantry, Pine Island Elementary, the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and the Little League. These are just a few of the organizations to which we donate. Over the past 17 years we have given scholarships to worthy high school seniors from Pine Island over $60,000. We also donate to Safe Surfin’ and the Special Olympics.
Every year we have an Easter Egg Hunt, a Halloween Party and Christmas Party with Santa Claus for the children of Pine Island. Every Thanksgiving we also have a free dinner, even for shut-ins we deliver.
The Moose is a fraternal organization that does many more community service projects locally and statewide also. As you see, the Moose is not just a place to have a drink and have meals at reasonable prices. We have many activities for our members. We help the community and we invite qualified individuals to join in our worthwhile endeavors both men and women.
Members enjoy a full range of “member benefits” from reduced rates on car rentals and hotels to discounts on prescriptions and health related services. The savings you gain by utilizing these benefits in one year more than offset the cost of membership. With over 100 Lodges in Florida and 1,500 in the United States, Canada and Great Britain, members can always find fellowship and a place to relax.
