Letter carriers’ food drive the biggest yet
To the editor:
The letter carriers “Stamp Out Hunger” food drive was the biggest
yet. This year’s final tally was 6,238 pounds of food. Thanks to all who donated, and to our letter carriers who went above and beyond. Also, to the neighborhood volunteers who did early pickup, the Boy Scouts, Hookers, Beacon of H.O.P.E. and all who worked in the hall separating donations and Fr. Michael for the use of the Life Center. Also to Roy and Peg Cruckshank, this year’s co-chairs.
This food will help us through the summer months when donations are down. Last year the pantry served 1,683 families, helping 4,619 children, seniors and adults.
This year’s drive was truly a community event. Thank you and may God bless.
