An apology to GPIWA membership

1 min read

To the editor:

On June 10, 2014, GPIWA attempted to “Auto Call” our membership to inform them that the Precautionary Boil Water Notice issued on June 7 was no longer in effect. The automatic telephone dialing system we use is though a company in Virginia.

To our dismay, when the calls we ordered began, it became clear that there was a system malfunction. Specifically, many of you received calls with only one or two rings before the system hung-up and many more of you received that call 4, 5, 10 and even 15 times. In most all cases, the message we were trying to convey was never received by you.

We understand that this action was at best an annoyance and in many cases very exasperating, prompting many justified angry calls from you to our customer service staff.

We sincerely apologize for any and all inconveniences these errant calls may have caused.
