Thanks to letter carriers, volunteers, food donors

To the editor:

The letter carriers did it again, collecting in excess of 5,500 pounds of food

for the Island Pantry. Delivering mail is a big job, add to that picking up bags

of food and it becomes a monumental task.

We are grateful for their efforts as this food will help us through the summer months when donations drop off. Our appreciation to all who donated food. A special thanks to Boy Scout Troop # 20, the Hookers and our pantry volunteers who sorted and stored. Roy and Peg Cruckshank were co-chair for the drive and did an outstanding job.

Our sincere appreciation to all and may God bless.
