Traffic, pedestrians causing problems in Matlacha
To the editor:
Matlacha is a hazard! We live on Pine Island and have to drive through there every time we leave the Island.
I understand businesses need to make money to survive when all the extras go home, but the traffic is terrible – it doesn’t matter when, weekends are the worst.
Cars parked on both sides that says “no parking” on pavement and people walk right in front of you, and drivers dead stop in front of you letting people cross anywhere, and not in crosswalks!
This is a very big problem for the fire department and the rescue squad. How will they get through in an emergency?
Civic leaders need to address this problem!
