Thank you from the Matlacha Civic Association

To the editor:

The Matlacha Civic Association would like to thank all those who helped us raise nearly $700 for the Pine Island Food Bank at our Taste of Matlacha fund-raiser last Saturday in Matlacha Park. This includes everyone who came out and enjoyed the taste delights of Matlacha, along with all the volunteers from the Matlacha Civic Association and the Pine Island Food Bank who handled tickets, served and cleaned up. And our very special thanks go out to the restaurants that so graciously donated delicious samplings from their menus: Andy’s Seafood for its seafood chowder, Bert’s Bar for its “Bert-Burgers,” Miceli’s for its garlic chicken pasta, Mulletville for its Oreo pie, The Olde Fish House for its smoked mullet and seafood spread, The Perfect Cup for its chicken salad, as well as the Sandy Hook Fish & Rib House for its key lime pie. And, of course, a very big thank-you to the Lee County Parks and Recreation Department for its support with parking and for providing the band, “Wild Caught,” that we all enjoyed so much.
