Affordable Healthcare Act

On Tuesday, Oct.1, 2013 enrollment for the Affordable Health Care Act began. There has been both positive and negative things said regarding this insurance program, however most of us like people do not fully understand it.
There is a health insurance booklet that is available, but it is my understanding that the state of Florida will not allow it to be on public display and it cannot be given to you unless you request it. If this is truly the case you can obtain a copy of the booklet by calling 1-800-318-2596 or visit www.healthcare.gov. This booklet will give you the cost of the affordable health care in each of the states. From that you will be able to make the choice of the amount of coverage you would like to have based on a price range that will fit into your budget.
To give you an idea of how this might work, a 27-year-old in Austin, Texas who makes $25,000 a year may pay $85 a month for coverage. In St. Louis, Missouri a family of four that has an annual income of $50,000 may pay a monthly premium of $32. Once again as a reminder if an individual or family is indigent, their insurance payments may be fully or partially subsidized by the U.S. government. The unsubsidized premiums could be as low as $70 per month and as high as $1200 per month for a family of four for a moderate plan.
