Don’t destroy America!

To the editor:

“It’s time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.” And how right Ronald Reagan was!

President Reagan was concerned with America losing sight of all that served to make her great. He was specifically upset about pompous and arrogant politicians ignoring the great works of the founders and with these pinheads advocating that Democracy can be built on a foundation of socialistic principles.

The United States was founded on a doctrine of personal responsibility; the Declaration of Independence was a statement of just that. Each of the 56 signers of the Declaration knew the risk he was taking. Sticking their thumbs in the eye of the most powerful man on earth seemed the height of folly at the time. They knew King George would send an army, a huge and formidable force, to quash their insurrection and keep his British Empire intact. The safe path when faced with odds of that sort would have been to issue the Declaration anonymously, hope things went the way they wanted, and if they didn’t, pray their anonymity held or run for their lives.

But cowardice was not in the character of our Founding Fathers!

Benjamin Franklin said it best when he told the group “we must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately.” So sad that “hanging together” has become a lost art and Democracy has suffered as a result. All we see today from the current administration is a constant stream of obnoxious finger pointing. No one taking responsibility and no one from the President on down ever either admitting mistakes or outlining consequences for wrong doings.

Four Americans including our ambassador were murdered and still months later no one has been held accountable. So far during the Obama reign 5 million babies have been slaughtered in the womb. A practice which is barbaric at best and a shameful display by an administration that wants to be respected by the civilized world.

Mr. Obama needs to realize that he’s not challenging an English King by not speaking out against child murder, he is disrespecting God and if we truly want God to Bless America we need to give Him a reason to do so!

And then the lies and the misrepresentations.

When Mr, Obama was campaigning for the Presidency the first time he said that our deficit was destroying America, it was immoral and un-American. In four years as President he has presided over the doubling of the deficit and we remain on track for a $20 trillion deficit when he leaves office. With Benghazi, and the murder of children, and the “un-American” deficit tough choices need to be made, it will take courage and conviction to do the right thing, and only this can serve to save Democracy.

Thomas Jefferson told us that the God who gave us life gave us liberty at the same time.

Step back Mr. Obama, take a deep breath, and find the courage to respect life, honor liberty, and protect our Democracy.
