Island losing a valuable asset

To the editor:

Those who shop at our local Winn-Dixie store have come to know Jason Smolinka, the center store manager. We have been quite blessed to have Jason for the past 11 years. Not only is he a dedicated employee, who works long hours, he is knowledgeable, helpful and just a plain great guy. He is part of our wonderful Pine Island family.

It has come to my attention that the corporate office of Winn-Dixie has chosen to steal Jason from our lovely store and send him to Weaver’s Corner, as of March 28, 2013. I find this unacceptable and hope you will join me in inundating Winn-Dixie’s corporate office with complaints. Their number is 1-866-946-6349. I am asking you to take 10 minutes out of your day to call and keep this valuable asset of ours on our island where he belongs.
