American Legion Post 136 the ‘Cheers’ of Pine Island
To the editor:
The American Legion Post 136 of St. James City has become the “Cheers” of Pine Island. People come in with a smile on their faces and we do whatever we can to make sure they leave with one! There are no strangers at our post!
We serve lunch every day of the week, dinner once a week, breakfast twice a month and have entertainment several times a week. There is no smoking in the dining room and you can always visit our new outside deck.
You can visit our website, www.post136-fl.org and click on our calendar for specifics or stop in at the post to pick up a newsletter with the calendar attached.
Our executive board wears blue name tags while at the post to let the public and members know who to contact if they need information about their membership, how to join or just learn more about upcoming events. Stop in and say hello to them. I know you will find a friend.
Almost anyone who was a veteran or the son or daughter of a veteran can join the American Legion. Why not stop in and see if you qualify. We would love to have you as a member of our family!

Adjutant & Past Commander
