Do oil companies have insurance?

2 min read

To the editor:

With all the trillions upon trillions of money the oil companies make, can’t they afford insurance? There is no profit and loss in their business, just profit. A broken pipeline, they charge us. A fire, they charge us. Wouldn’t that be nice if we could do that? You know, refrigerators break down, charge the manufacturer. Fan belt breaks on your car, charge the manufacturer. Dryer breaks down, charge the manufacturer. Kinda silly isn’t it? And yet we put up with it. But more important, the government puts up with it. Aren’t they supposed to be working for us?

Now that the car companies are on their feet again, wouldn’t it be nice if they started making their auto parts here in the United States? Actually they should be required to make them here.

Remember the expression, “For God and Country?” Well, it looks like we’re losing both, thanks to people like M. O’Hare. We almost lost God on our money. That was a close one. Gee, I wonder why the nation’s in the condition it is. Something to ponder.

They could have cut the cost of ballots and the election in half if they got rid of the other language. They have laws against discrimination and yet they break the law every day. I can only imagine how the other nationalities feel when they see that. It should be a hate crime.

Good to see Dawn Shevlin writing again. She really does her homework, which is more then I can say for the candidates. Go Dawn, you got my vote.
