Help support PIE Fishing Tournament and Derby
To the editor:
Labor Day Weekend always signals that summer is now but a memory and that fall is fast approaching. Children attending Pine Island Elementary and Lee County Schools have comfortably settled into their routines; and college bound young adults have left their families, often for the first time to venture out into the world seeking wisdom.
This means that the Matlacha Hookers are hard at work and focused on the Annual Pine Island Elementary Fishing Tournament and Derby that will be held on Sunday, Oct. 14.
The children and teachers of PIE depend on our support each year, and we’re proud to support them and their effort to continue being a Grade A School. On the other hand, we count on the continued support from our community to make this event a success.
There are many ways to help; event tee shirts are available for purchase at several locations, you can sponsor a child, sign up to fish or make a donation. Sponsorship opportunities are still available. No donation is too little and all are greatly appreciated. All of our members are prepared to offer proper receipts for any contribution.
