Rezoning island property

2 min read

To the editor:

First I would like to thank Tim for his letter to the editor. Our beautiful island needs more residents to respond.

I would like to respond to the coverage of the meeting May 9 about the rezoning of the property on the island.

We all moved to the island for its beauty, nature and tranquility and to get away from high crime. I believe everyone that lives here year-round or half the year agree with this statement.

We need to stand together to protect us from developers who just want to make money from rezoning that will impact our island traffic.

If for some tragedy this rezoning is allowed to pass, everything will change. Our island will not be tranquil anymore. At the meeting the highway specialist stated it so well that this rezoning could affect our highways. It’s not just this rezoning that is currently being voted on. There are other issues concerning us all.

If you are as concerned as we are please contact our local zoning committee.
