Fluoride in our drinking water
To the editor:
We have been informed that the water system of Pine Island has been given a grant from the state/federal for a low grade of fluoride to be added to our water system.
We as taxpayers are not happy with this choice because down the road it will be an increase in our water rates. With the economy that we have now it will be difficult for many people to pay and more than we already are.
A large part of Pine Island residents are senior citizens, who do not need fluoride and we don’t want it. There are also many other side effects from the fluoride, which can cause us health issues.
We hope the water company will think about this before it takes effect.
