The Matlacha Hookers would like to extend their thanks to the Pine-Island Eagle and Breeze Newspapers for the wonderful coverage that we were afforded during the months leading up to our fishing tournament. The 13th annual PIE Fishing Tournament and Derby sponsored by the Matlacha Hookers to benefit our A+ Pine Island Elementary School was held Sunday, Oct. 23, at The Olde Fish House Marina.
The articles notifying our adult anglers and posting the tournament forms were so appreciated as well as the articles explaining our Chinese and silent auctions and asking our area residents and businesses for donations. Thank you for also putting in our child sponsorship forms so each child that wished to could fish…….what a wonderful time they all had catching sheepshead, rays, lady fish and other various species.
We also thank the weekly contributing writers that promoted our event within their articles.
We are all so fortunate to live, work and play in this wonderful community and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
