Why so many fishing tournaments?
To the editor:
As a Florida resided for 69 years and an avid fisherman I cannot understand if we have the problem with the water quality and our fish population. Why is it that every time you read a paper you see fishing contest? Does anyone ever think of the harm to the poor fish and yes I know what they say “Catch and Release.:” Well do you know how many fish die if if they are released ?
Have a bowling contest, baseball contest, horse shoes anything but fishing contest. People cheat anyway and try to win the money.
To benefit the fish stop this killing and raise moneys other ways to donate to Hatchery’s and Water Clean Up Programs. “Save Our God given fish for the next generation.”
