Finger pointing
To the editor:
The President and members of Congress are playing a childish game that is serving to destroy America. Instead of attempting to earn their pay, those in Washington continue to live in their infantile babble and try to convince us that they have some value if they stand in front of microphone and point fingers. It’s babble after babble. Meeting after meeting. Promises and more promises. And as a result of disingenuous gibber and unproductive infighting…our Washington representatives have brought America to the brink of bankruptcy and disgrace. Nor after a credit rating downgrade, the first in American history and a move that will bring turmoil around the world, the President has the nerve to appoint another “problem solving” panel and tells us that they will have our answers by Thanksgiving. That statement in itself reflects a shameful display of disrespect for the American people and arrogance far beyond the pale. The answer is simple. The rating agency has taken this downgrade action for very specific reasons. All that’s needed is to speak to the agency, have them articulate the reasons….and then put in motion the remedies. We don’t need more finger pointing, more Presidential pomposity, or the appointment of additional and useless committees. We need sincerity and immediate action and nothing short of this will serve to prevent another disastrous rating down grade.
