Thank you from Little League

To the editor:

Pine Island Little League would like to thank all of those who helped us raise over $5000 at the “Party on the Bar 2011.” It was a great weekend, with four bands over two days and a lot of fun in the sun. It never would have happened without Sandbar Productions, so thank you to Jim Frock, Scott Allen, Scott Robertson, Richard Strauss and Ray Holton, for organizing the event. Also, we never could have done it without the generous donations from contributors, Nautical Mile, Old Fish House, A-1 Marine, Bert’s Bar and Grill, Bubba’s Roadhouse, Friendly Frankies, Island Crab and Pine Island Moose Lodge.

We also appreciate the help from our tireless volunteers who went around on kayaks to “bring in the money.” Thank you Phil Picanso, Chris Hein, John Davis, Brain Frock, Adam Frazier and Sean Darr.

This event was for the kids. Pine Island Little League is an all-volunteer organization whose goal is to provide a safe environment for kids to experience the joy of baseball. We can always use help, so if anybody would like to volunteer their time to coach, umpire, or work the concession stand, we would love to have you.

Thank you again, and look for the Party on the Bar next year!
