Thank you for a special birthday

To the editor:

Thanks to all those who helped me celebrate my 80th birthday. The delicious cake baked by Linda Newman and presented to me at the American Legion Auxiliary meeting, and the luncheon and cake for me by the Foxy Ladies Bowling and Card Group were special and hopefully all who participated enjoyed them as much as I did.

On Friday, the actual date of my birthday, my daughter and I were planning a quiet dinner at home when Pink Wesorick called and asked us to come over and look at something she had done. Upon arrival, people started arriving with a card, dish to pass and birthday wishes, and it was a wonderful surprise. In addition, folks were asked, rather than gifts, to make a donation to the Calusa Land Trust and many did so.

So in conclusion, my heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated in making my 80th birthday so special.
