To the editor:

Yes, he promised to kill Osama bin Laden and indeed, with much help from many efforts made since Sept. 11, 2001, Obama presided, so he says although Leona Panetta, CIA chief, says otherwise, over a military operation that accomplished that goal. I’m glad the mother of all terrorists is dead.

However, in the same speech,he promised to “crush Al Quaeda” then, once elected, promptly disavowed our War on Terror in favor of an Overseas Contingency Operation, tells the enemy when we will be leaving Afghanistan and issues an order that American soldiers cannot fire at the enemy unless first fired upon. He promised to make aid to Pakistan conditional on Pakistan being required to help fight terrorists, yet allocates $3 billion plus this year when it is clear this condition is not being met.

John Bunch states “There have been no attacks like Sept. 11, 2001 on Obama’s watch, either and no Americans were killed on American soil by Islamic extremists during the remainder of GW’s presidency. Contrast that to two soldiers gunned down in Little Rock and the attack at Fort Hood by a murderer yelling “Aliahu Ackbar” as he gunned down 45 people, fatally injuring 13 of them. There were plenty of signs that this Muslim major’s loyalties were not with the United States, but “the issue here is that there’s now a political correctness climate in the military” stated a Fort Hood officer.

Political correctness? No enhanced interrogation techniques? Soldiers not being able to fire unless fired upon by the enemy? Paying our enemies to shelter our enemies? I, for one, feel much less secure under this commander-in-chief than any other because his policy on terrorism seems to be to sit down with people, mainly Muslims, who wish us dead and sing “Why Can’t We Be Friends?” I don’t want America to be friends with dictators, tyrants and lunatics, I want America to be feared by them.
