Another bad decision
To the editor:
On Sept 11,2001 our country was attacked by terrorists and thousands were murdered. For the next countless days we watched in horror as every channel and headlines repeatedly showed in living color the deaths of our countrymen and women. These visions were forever etched in our memories.
Ten years later we were finally given a reason to feel proud and celebrate the death of the madman largely responsible. Now our leaders want to bury their heads in the sand again. The decision by the President and his advisors to not show the pictures they have of bin Laden with a bullet in his head is another gutless slap in the face to every American.
The logic they use behind this is that they don’t want to inflame the murderers into retaliating. Are they really so disillusioned that they think it will make a difference? Regardless of what we do or have done, these fanatics are out to kill as many people as they can and showing a picture of that lunatic with a bullet in his head will not make any difference in their ideology.
As a Vietnam veteran who fought in a war run by gutless politicians who tied our hands, this is again bad policy. I think in honor of those that died that day and their families it should be proclaimed a National Holiday and let them know that we have more of the same for the rest of them. O.K we got No. 1 now let’s go after the rest of them and each and every time show the graphic pictures of their demise. They sure will not upset my sensibilities.
