CERT to commence training

Pine Island’s Emergency Response Team (CERT) began its training for the 2011 year with a orientation meeting at Fire Station #3 in Bokeelia on Wednesday, March 2. New members were instructed as to what their duties will be and presented with a training schedule that will cover every Wednesday in March and April. Thanks to the Pine Island Eagle and its “Community Services” page, CERT membership has been maintained and all positions are filled.
The March training schedule will begin on the 9th with a course on “disaster preparation”. On the 16th it will be “fire safety”, and on the 23rd and the 30th will involve medical and first aid procedures. All training sessions will include all CERT team members, both new and old. We welcome the new members and are looking forward to working with them.
