Below is a copy of an e-mail I sent to Timothy P. Jagneau, the Sr. Project Manager for Dollar General. If you feel as I do about preserving our island atmosphere, please forward Mr. Jagneau an e-mail to show our solidarity.

Mr. Jagneau,
Pine Island is one of the last remaining remnants of ‘Old Florida’ and we Pine Islanders adamantly protect that atmosphere. Perhaps Dollar General should review what happened when Walgreens tried to construct a building at Pine Island Center that was not ‘island friendly’. To avoid boycotts and picket lines, I suggest the signage on your new building conform to what is acceptable to you ‘anticipated’ customer base.
