Uncommon sense 101

To the editor:

Do we wait for the island to sink from the wight of the drugs on the island or do we attach pontoons to the edges of the island to keep it afloat? Could it be that some other agencies are not doing their job?

It’s refreshing to hear the recession is over, but it seems that someone neglected to tell us the depression has started. Details, details. remember the Untouchables? I think they’ve been touched.

How in the world could there be so much drugs in this country? I realize that the judges giving out “get out of jail free” cards doesn’t help, but somebody should be doing something.

Judges.

When will they learn we need big business to solve the unemployment problem? Loans to small businesses is nice, but it doesn’t solve the major problem we have.

We have to force the auto and appliance companies back into this country and the steel mills.

The education system is going downhill. How about getting the computers out of schools so the kids can think for themselves? That might be a start, since we rank in the mid-20s in the world.

The one word we don’t hear lately is impeach. More than ever, that word should be used. We could have Obama in the white house if he could find it under a rock. I think the rock would be more productive.

I hope the bridge in Matlacha doesn’t turn out to be another Santa Barbara project. That should make the Guiness Book of Records for the longest job.

Keep on smiling before they tax you for it.

To the editor:

Rumor has it that both parties are canvassing prisons for the criminally insane looking for candidates. That would be a step up.

Notice that neither party has a plan to get the economy going again. Meanwhile, the banks are giving huge bonuses to their execs again.

And how about the justice system? Somebody with 30, 40, 50 arrests out on the street again to peddle their drugs. Nice to work for the mob. They give benefits and job security. That includes the judges too.

And the girl sentenced to 90 days for drugs and lands up serving one day and a few hours.

And the real estate guy doing one year out of a 10 year sentence.

And justice for all. Yeah, right. we take for granted our agencies are doing their jobs.

How about the BP spill. Did the inspector do his job?

How about drug enforcement? Are they doing their job?

And immigration.

And on and on and on. Or are they just sitting around waiting to collect their pensions and bribes?

Remember, rule of thumb for election day. “IF they’re in, vote them out.”

I still think that 10 year old singer should have won.

It’s scary not knowing what flag will be flying over the White House next year. American, Chinese, Mexican or Muslim.

Have a good day,
