Common sense 101
To the editor:
Found another solution to the economy. License all computers on a yearly basis. Let’s say $100 per year. Sounds crazy doesn’t it? Well think of the effect they have on business. They all but wiped out the post office. Retail stores are being hurt. And how about taxes lost? Oh, did I forget to mention cell phones, too? Since now they do the same as computers, they should be included, too.
Now we’d have to set up an agency to monitor the paperwork, another to enforce violations such as porn. So, between the license fees, and the fines for violations, we’ll have enough money to keep quite the few people employed across the nation.
Now remember you’re saving money on gas by not having to drive to the store. You’re not paying taxes and it’s usually cheaper on the Internet, so $100 seems to be a bargain.
Another food for thought. Bar cell phones from schools. They text answers back and forth, hence, cheating. Disrupt the rest of the class. Cause more stress for the teacher who has to put up with the brats.
In closing, Christmas time send a bag of garbage to the White House. It’ll help the Post Office and also give Washington an idea of what we think of them.
