Thank you from the Lions

To the editor:

When the Greater Pine Island places a news article in the paper – Pine Islanders respond with donations in our drop boxes. We appreciate those donations and thank you. Keep up the good work.

However, last week when we were called upon to aid a fellow Islander with eye exam, and glasses he immediately called upon his neighbors and even went door to door collecting eye glasses, cell phones and hearing aids. I have personally thanked him, but wanted to give recognition that this, along with the many thank you cards we get from students from Pine Island Elementary and others, is certainly appreciated by the volunteers of the Greater Pine Island Lions Club.

Thanks again to those who support our money making efforts every year to allow us to continue supporting our fellow Islanders.

We do need members and would welcome any and all of you to our meetings in the fall beginning Oct. 25, at 7 p.m., — Fisher of Men’s Lutheran Church, 10360 Stringfellow.
